WOW: Stonefields Hexagon Flowers & Flying Geese

After completing the blocks for month 1 of Stonefields, I started making hexagon flowers and flying geese. For Stonefields' border I need 168 hexagon flowers and three of them are used on blocks in the centre of the quilt. And the inner border consists of 44 flying geese on each side.

So far I have completed 5 hexagon flowers. Still 12 to go for this month!

Karen gave me the beautiful William Morris fabric used in this hexagon.

A small start on my flying geese inner border.

Jane sent me some fabrics for Stonefields. The little pussycat and the doggie are just too sweet. They will be used as hexagon centres. And the other two fabrics are waiting for the perfect block to come along. The card is lovely too.

She also sent me the leftover corners of her Home Sweet Home quilt, to be used for my Dear Jane or my quilt with roses which is still in the planning stages.
Thank you very much, Jane!

A few days ago the sun came out after a shower and our new pansies looked beautiful.

Back soon with more news of Stonefields. It won't be long before part 2 arrives. I cannot wait!

I will be linking with Esther's blog for WOW (WIPs on Wednesdays). If you need inspiration that's the place to go.

Groetjes ineke

Anne Marieke your fussy cutting on your hexagon flowers is so perfect, they all look so sweet, I'm crazy about the William Norris one I do adore his art work. I think I could make that many hexagon flowers but not that many flying guess so I'm glad I'm just following you all visually making Stongfields LOL. Lovely to see your flower photos again stunning with the rain drops on them and such lovely colours. Hugs Glenda

What a way you have with fabrics Anne Marieke, you have matched all of these up so beautifully, I just love them all but I do think my favourite must be the fussy cut flowers in the round....after the arts n crafts one with the green polka dot middle - what an interesting quilt this will be to look at.
