A Creative Day

My health is not doing what it is supposed to be doing at the moment and I'm taking it very easy since I became unwell on Friday.

My sister had to take over my 'duties' of taking my Mum to the hospital today (thank you dear Sis!) so that gave me time to relax and when I'm relaxing, my creative mojo wakes up.

First I had a little photo session in the garden. The dew drops were so beautiful again this morning.

Scraps like these (thank you, Mum!) are heaven for a quilter working on Dear Jane. It has lots of different squares.

The first DJ block that came from this little heap of scraps is this pretty one that I stitched a few days back, and I have two more in the works coming from that same fabric.

I prepared a few more Dear Jane blocks from fabrics coming from my other projects.

And lastly, I felt like painting and wanted to try something new. I normally sketch my water colours and paint from a photograph or from memory. And I have never painted flowers before, except for a few tries a few years back.

The weather was lovely this afternoon, and I spent an hour in the garden, painting this pansy which I picked in our garden. I started in the middle and worked my way out.
I'm quite happy with my first try. To be continued...

My passions are keeping me sane whilst my doctor is trying to figure out what is going on.
Mijn passies houden me op de been terwijl mijn huisarts probeert uit te zoeken wat er aan de hand is.

Back soon with more Dear Jane, and who knows what else.

Oh your pansy is so so charming, you have captured the that charm that pansies have that make you smile when you see one and then you have turned it in to a wee piece of wall art with the back ground that looks like swirling water or the sea. Love love love it. All so those nature photos are magical you need to be so sick more often LOL. It brings out the strong creativity inside you. Hugs Glenda

Your pansy is so pretty and delicate, it's wonderful! I applaud your perseverance with the DJ blocks, you are going so quickly with them.
I hope the doctor finds that you just need some rest. Keeping you in good thoughts and prayers today.
