WOW: Wednesday, a Day Well Spent

Yesterday I had a wonderful time in Amsterdam, where Lynette Anderson tought a class at Den Haan en Wagenmakers.

It was great to meet Lynette, and to see her wonderful quilts in real life. Believe me, photographs do not do them justice!

In this picture you see Lynette with Marja, who made a pretty version of Stitched By Me.

This is a detail of Flower Spool Quilt published in Lynette's latest book Country Cottage Quilting.
This quilt is so beautiful in real life, with very subtle pale blue and pale beige and cream colours.
And it has ever so tiny hexagon flowers, made with 1/4 inch templates.

Petra Prins' daughter had baked these cute cakes.

Having had the pattern set for this quilt for over a year now, I was blown away by it when I saw it in real life. It is called Your Home or Mine and Lynette used gorgeous greens, burgundy's and pinks for this quilt.

This has now - of course - moved up a lot of notches on my to do list :o)

This blog will be linked to Esther Aliu's WOW: WIPs on Wednesdays. Go over there to see what wonderful things quilters from al over the world are doing.

I completely agree with you! Seeing the quilts in real is such a thrill!! I always find them more beautiful than on paper! I saw Lynette's quilts in her booth in Nantes but didn't meet her as she wasn't there but fortunately saw her in Cécile's booth another day and have be able to say "hi". It must have been a great day for you to have a class with Lynette.

AnneMarieke I always enjoy visiting your blog, I then always visit links from your blog. This week I visited Lynettes then a link on her blog and so I kept going for 2 hrs. It is such fun seeing links from quilters all over Europe as there fabric and designs are different from Down Under. Cheers Glenda
