When I first saw the Japanese Floral Bouquet Quilt by Yoko Saito on Isadarena's blog, I instantly fell in love with it. I ordered the book, which took forever to arrive. And from then on I started collecting Japanese fabrics, more seriously when I visited the Deventer Quiltshow with Ineke.
When Isabelle heard that I had started this beautiful project, she promised to send me a few scraps of pinks and yellows for the flowers.
These 'few scraps' resulted in the postman ringing our doorbell to present me with a very fat envelope. Thank you ever so much Isabelle!
Aren't they beautiful?
Zijn ze niet mooi?
This is the first block I completed last month.
And this is my second block, which is not the second one on the pattern. According to me it is the eighth, according to the Japanese pattern the 11th.
In the mean time I have found the perfect background fabric to stitch the second block with the white embroidered flowers.
A lot of ordering and buying of Japanese fabrics has been going on since I stared. I ordered these three sets of Fat Quarters from the USA. After all, I need to have plenty of choice :o)

Groetjes,
Ann
So Pretty! I love the colors this will be wonderful when you have finished it! can't wait to see the rest as you do it.
It's really pretty Anne Marieke!
Wonderful, wonderful blocks! I love all the fabrics you have chosen!
Hi Anna Marieke, I was so happy to see you again at Esther's blog, I though what HAS she been up to, I also adore her Yoko's work, she has been in the fore in Japan for a very long time, I first saw her work in the Tsushin Mag of Japan about 13 years ago; I still buy them but they are not as good as the early editions I think when I would pick them up in Japan all in Japanese but who needs translation when you are talking about quilting, you have sure made her blocks beautifully she would be proud, I do know that she often goes to Holland and does work shops there and has a very strong following. Your collection of fabrics is amazing keep looking!!! Keep it up it is going to be beautiful like all your work. Hugs Glenda
Back again for another look!!!!! Just zoomed in on those daisy petals WOWWWWW that looks like find fine fine hand satin stitch down the centres?????? no wonder they look so beautiful. Since reading your blog I have done a lot of research on this lovely quilt you are making there are so many others making it too, I enjoyed looking at the others blocks in different fabrics, but I must admit I love it in the Taupe shades best, but that's just my choice. Hugs Glenda
Your work is always so amazing great hand stitching. Love that quilt. Bunny

I am off to look for more information on this quilt , it is to die for, not litterally but would love to source the pattern.
