Morning Light on the Foxgloves

I cannot believe it has been a month since I wrote an entry on my blog. So sorry for ignoring you!

This doesn't mean I haven't been stitching. Still plugging along to catch up with all the parts for Mountmellick. But pieced borders are rather boring to photograph.

More interesting was the beautiful light half an hour ago, and my new huge foxglove plant which I brought home on Wednesday, but haven't planted yet, because I was waiting for perfect light without wind.

The last flower is nearly gone. A bit sad, but plenty more to come on the huge plant.

Now I had better go and dig a big hole so it can finally be planted.

But not before I show you a portrait of our little furbaby Luna which I took a couple of weeks ago.

Back soon with a painting which I need to finish and pictures of Mountmellick.

The foxglove is beautiful! My mother has a number of them. Unfortunately, my yard is not foxglove friendly.

Your a Dear Jane blocks are beautiful. Could you explain how you made Abbey's Eyes? Did you use reverse appliqué? Thank you for sharing.

Hi Carole, I just hand-pieced it.
If you imagine two diagonal halves. I hand-pieced those three pieces on each side, and then inserted the diamond and attached both halves by hand. No applique at all in Abbey's Eyes.

Hope this helps.
