Some of you who probably already guessed that I sneaked away to my favourite island in Scotland, when they saw the water colour paintings I showed last month.

Suddenly I found myself on my way to the Lake District. My Dad had been taken ill whilst on holiday and needed to be driven home. This is the view of Rannoch Moor from the train from Fort William to Glasgow.
En opeens was ik op weg naar het Lake District. Mijn vader was tijdens zijn vakantie ziek geworden en moest naar huis gereden worden. Dit is het uitzicht op Rannoch Moor vanuit de trein van Fort William naar Glasgow.
At the end of a long day of travelling (involving a coach, two trains and two taxis) from Skye to the Lake District, this was the view from my Mum and Dad's holiday destination: a sheep farm near Kendal in the Lake District.
En na een lange dag reizen van Skye naar het Lake District (met een bus, twee treinen en twee taxis) was dit het uitzicht van het vakantieadres van Mam en Pap: een schapenboerderij in de buurt van Kendal in het Lake District.
I didn't get to enjoy it for very long, because the next morning we were on our way to Newcastle, to catch the evening ferry to IJmuiden in Holland. Mum and Dad's car was rather full of luggage once their luggage and mine was loaded up.
Ik kon er niet lang van genieten, want de volgende morgen gingen we op weg naar Newcastle, om de avondveerboot naar IJmuiden te halen. Mam en Pap's auto was behoorlijk vol toen eenmaal hun bagage en de mijne er in zaten.
The journey went smoothly and around 5 pm we were on our way to Holland.
De reis verliep voorspoedig en rond 5 uur waren we op weg naar Nederland.

Een laatste uitzicht op Newcastle van de veerboot. Die kleine bootjes zien er uit als speelgoedbootjes vanaf de grote veerboot.
Our poor little Minty is still ill. Blood tests which were taken last week revealed that she has pancreatitis. She is going for an ultrasound this afternoon, to make sure there is nothing nasty happening in her tummy.
She is feeling very poorly at the moment and I am injecting her with pain killers and anti-nausea medication.
Onze arme kleine Minty is nog steeds ziek. Uit bloedonderzoek dat vorige week is gedaan is gebleken dat ze een ontstoken alvleesklier heeft. Er wordt vanmiddag een echo gemaakt om zeker te weten dat er niets anders engs aan de hand is in haar buikje.
Ze voelt zich erg ziek en ik geef haar iedere dag prikjes tegen de pijn en de misselijkheid.

Ik ben gauw weer terug met foto's van Fernhill 1 tot en met 4. Er moeten nog een paar bramen gevuld worden met Franse knoopjes voor ik de vier delen kan laten zien.
