These pictures were taken around the self catering house we rented on the island of South Ronaldsay.
This was the sunset on the last evening we stayed there:
And this was the view from the windows of the house one evening, and when I went outside...
I saw this on the opposite side of the sky:
You can see how this sunset reflected on the sky in the second picture, and how that sky reflected in the sea. The colour of the water was amazing. I have never seen anything like it.

These pictures were taken to use for inspiration for watercolour paintings, but I honestly don't know how I would ever do them justice.

I think your work has a beautiful softness to it. Your edges look very nice and soft. I love this style, your quilt is going to be spendid!
Dont mind me - I commented on the wrong post. But I did have to leave another comment and mention how amazing your sky line looks. I have been trying to capture that shade of violent bursting orange for years!! I have caught some beautiful lilacs and blues, but your sunsets are beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
Stunning skies, beautifully captured - thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful blog Anne, I have just spent the last 40 mins looking at your art. I keep seeing some beautiful embroidery, I do love fine work & yours is that. Looking forward to seeing which first boarder you go with on Esther’s lovely quilt????? Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. Cheers Glenda
